Moving guide
Your move, ticked off step by step.
Tips to make your move cost less, plus a checklist from the first preparations to your first night in the new home. Tick things off as you go — the list is saved in your browser.
To doA cheaper move
6 things that lower the cost of your move.
The more organised you are, the faster we load and the fewer trips we make — and that shows directly in the cost of the transport.
Pack in advance
When we arrive, have the boxes already sealed and labelled. We load faster and the move takes less time.
Give us all the details
The exact list (make it in the calculator), the floors, the lift, the addresses and any large or heavy items. That way we turn up first time with the right van and the right people, with no extra trips.
Sort things first
What you give away or throw out takes no space in the van. Less volume means fewer trips.
Take apart what you can
Dismantled beds, tables and wardrobes pack in more tightly. If you can’t, tell us in advance what needs taking apart.
Use boxes of similar sizes
They stack easily and fill the van without gaps. Put heavy things in small boxes and light things in large ones.
Prepare the access
A parking space near the entrance, the lift free and the doors open. Gather the boxes in a room close to the exit.
The easiest way to start: make the list in the calculator — see the volume and how many trips it takes, then send it straight to us.
